How our appetite for fast fashion is killing the enviroment

Dangers of fast fashion and how our appetite is killing the environment:

Fast fashion has an impact on the environment through emissions, the fashion industry is actually responsible for about 10% of global CO2 each year. This is more than all international flights and maritime shipping combined.

It's estimated that around 300,000 tonnes of used clothes are dumped in landfill every year. What makes this fact even worse is that loads of this is probably clothes that have never been touched or even sold yet. As trends are non stop changing and people want to be wearing the in thing all the time, fast fashion brands are forced to meet the demand and this will mean disposing of untouched and unworn brand new clothing.

The fashion industry is the second largest consumer of the worlds water supply. Also the second largest consumer of polluting our oceans with micro plastics. Micro plastics are an issue because they are tiny bits of any type of plastic. they enter the ecosystems from things like, cosmetics and clothing.
